The Olympic bus network is the quickest way to get from the Vancouver area to Cypress Mountain and Whistler venues through a network of departure hubs located at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Capilano University, Simon Fraser University (SFU) and Langara College. There is also a transfer hub at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. To reserve a seat on the bus, you must purchase an Olympic bus network transportation ticket. Yes, all information signs will be in English and French, and our bilingual volunteers will be designated with a "Bonjour" pin on their uniform. Information booth hosts can also assist you in French.
For Olympic events at Cypress Mountain, Whistler Creekside and Whistler Olympic Park, spectators with category A tickets have the right to reserved grandstand seating. Spectators with category B tickets are entitled to general admission standing. The same applies at The Whistler Sliding Centre, except that spectators with Category B tickets have the option of general admission seating or standing.
For Paralympic events at Whistler Creekside and Whistler Paralympic Park, spectators with category A tickets have the right to general admission seating. Spectators with category B tickets are entitled to general admission standing.
Visit the information booths located inside the Olympic and Paralympic venues. You will find information about the area, Cultural Olympiad events, transportation, venue and competition information and results. There will also be information kiosks located throughout Metro Vancouver and in Whistler.
For Olympic events, gates will open for spectators two hours before the start of the competition at all city venues, and three hours before the start of competition at all mountain venues. For Paralympic events, gates will open for spectators one to two hours before the start of the competition at all venues.
All events at Whistler Medals Plaza are general admission standing only.

General admission seating is located across from the finish dock and at the upper start house. Areas to stand and view are located throughout the venue. Note: it takes approximately 40 minutes to walk from the spectator plaza to the upper start house.
To access Olympic and Paralympic venues, spectators must:
- Carry a valid ticket.
- Undergo a security screening (at all events for Olympic Games; for just the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Paralympic Games).
- Respect the venue code of conduct and all house rules, including those concerning restricted and prohibited items and actions.
Spectators not complying with the above rules may be asked to leave the venue.

Gates at BC Place will open at 14:00 for the Opening Ceremony, at 16:30 for the Victory Ceremonies and at 13:30 for the Closing Ceremony. You are asked to be in your seats for the Opening Ceremony by the start of the audience participation rehearsal at 17:00, at 19:00 for the Victory Ceremonies and at 16:30 for the Closing Ceremony. At Whistler Medals Plaza, gates will open at 16:00 for the Opening Ceremony simulcast, 15:30 for Closing Ceremony simulcast and 16:30 for the nightly Victory Ceremonies.
There is NO spectator parking at any Olympic venue. As a result, walking, cycling or public transportation is recommended.
Ticketed Games spectators will have unlimited free access to local public transit the day of their event; all you have to do is show your ticket before boarding.
All ticketed Games spectators travelling from Metro Vancouver to Whistler and Cypress Mountain events will be transported on the Olympic bus network, a network of designated departure points. For Olympic event ticket holders whose trip originates in Vancouver, there will be a round-trip cost associated with booking a seat on the Olympic bus network. We recommend that you book your seat early to get your preferred departure time and rate. Rates are subject to change.
Each venue will have an area labelled “Stroller Storage." Baby strollers, wheelchairs and electric scooters may be stored in this designated area.
