In their epic rivalry, Mario and Sonic carve up the slopes and tear up the ice for all the bonus points they can muster in 2010 Winter Games venues. So grab your Wii™ Remote/Nunchuk, Wii™ Balance Board or Nintendo DS™ and give gold your best shot. Players can also answer trivia questions about past and current Olympic Winter Games to gain extra points.

Choose Your Event and Your Character

Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Winter Games™ is a great way to challenge friends and family to compete in Olympic Winter Games sports. Players can hone their team skills with simultaneous cooperative play on the Wii™ or get their fill of one-on-one rivalry in the popular competitive events on Wii™ or Nintendo DS™.

The game features favourite characters from the world of Mario, the world’s most famous plumber, and Sonic, the blue hedgehog who moves at sonic speed. Characters include Luigi, Tails, Peach, Amy, Bowser and Eggman with new faces like Donkey Kong, Metal Sonic, Bowser Jr. and Silver.

To make the game as realistic as possible, the creators relied on course maps, photos and video footage. Game developers came from Japan to Vancouver and Whistler for city and venue tours in October 2008.

Nintendo Wii Get Into the Games

Wii™ Remote/Nunchuk and Wii Balance Board™ simulate real-life movements using intuitive controls, allowing players to ski, skate, snowboard and even bobsleigh to glory in the seating position with up to four players. It’s intended for all ages and skill levels. Dream events were created for added excitement. Ski cross, alpine skiing and a snowball fight can all be played on Wii™ with multiple players. You can go shopping with your earned tokens to purchase costumes, clothing, snowboard stickers and other winter gear to stylize your characters.

The Nintendo DS™ version uses intuitive and easy pick-up-and-play controls, using the stylus, buttons or D-pad™. Wi-Fi and wireless functionalities add to the single and competitive multi-player fun. The best part? Friends can download multiple events from a single cartridge, so prepare to play anytime and anywhere.
