Vancouver, BC – Pierre Lueders, four-time Olympian and the most decorated slider in Canadian history, and brakeman Justin Kripps participated in the christening of The Whistler Sliding Centre track on the afternoon of December 19, 2007, making some of the first runs at the new venue. >>>

At the close of this year's sliding season, 2,217 test and training runs were taken on the new Whistler Sliding Centre track. Taking the majority of these first runs was the Canadian bobsleigh, luge and skeleton teams, who really took advantage of the first Canadian Team Training Camps at The Whistler Sliding Centre. >>>
In Their Words: Lascelles Brown
Lascelles Brown of Clarendon, Jamaica has been a competitive bobsledder since 1999. As a member of the Jamaican bobsleigh team, Brown became the first Jamaican-born athlete to win an Olympic Winter Games medal. At the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games, the Jamaican duo of Brown and breakman Winston Watt set the track push record. >>>
