As the “Birthplace of Confederation”, visitors to Charlottetown frequently comment on the sense of comfort they experience while visiting our great city. The friendliness of our people, our warm hospitality and strong sense of community combine to create peace of mind in residents and visitors alike. All it takes is a stroll through the city to see and feel a sense of pride within the streets and parks. Beautiful hanging flowerpots line the city streets during the summer season; and just in time for Christmas the city puts up over thousands of lights turning the city into a magical winter wonderland. Many of the lights remain on display throughout the winter months until the end of Charlottetown’s winter celebrations, in February. With its clean streets, colourful heritage homes and buildings, and beautifully manicured lawns, it is easy to see why the city has received the Prince of Wales Heritage award, Communities in Bloom awards, multiple National Winter Lights awards, and has been named for the second year in a row as “#2 Best Places to do Business in Canada” by the Canadian Business Magazine. In our seaside city, historic small town charm meets urban flair. Where else can you explore a city completely by foot and discover everything your heart desires from delightful dining and quaint shops to vibrant culture and modern nightlife.
