Rallye 2009
Sep 15, 2009
Every year, the administrative board organizes the Rallly Guid’Amies based on the yearly theme of the United Nations Organization which declared 2009 the "International Year of Astronomy". This is a worldwide celebration of astronomy and its contributions to society and culture. The purpose of this event is to elicit interest not only in astronomy, but as well in sciences in general around the world and especially with youth.
And this is exactly what was accomplished last April. Accompanied by their friends, members of the movement were invited to "Take off for Outer Space!" They became astronauts, they flew rockets, they learned about the constellations and discussed the planets. There were about 50 small "falling stars" running around, jumping, learning, playing, singing, sewing and working in teams in order to meet challenges.
