Défis olympiques

I divided the class into four teams (each mascot represents a team). Each student adopted a country and a winter Olympic discipline. Throughout the year, they will conduct research in order to enhance their knowledge of their respective adopted country and discipline. In February, they will present their findings to the community. As well, throughout the year, they must cut out from various newspapers current events concerning their country. Local athletes will come by to talk about their discipline. This project will culminate with the production of an Olympic atlas. Through this project, we cover history (of the Olympics), geography (chosen country), math, sciences (study of the body and the muscles), French and studio arts (creating masks representative of the adopted countries and Inukshuk design).
