Key Messages
The official Canadian School Portal for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is called /EDU and can be found at vancouver2010.com/EDU. Here teachers can access resources that connect existing curricula to the 2010 Winter Games.
One of the most exciting features of /EDU is the “Project Showcase” where teachers share student projects and activities related to the Games or in the areas of sport, culture and sustainability. Imagine the work of your students and your school being showcased on the official website for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games for the entire world to see and share.
In addition, every teacher who submits a project to /EDU receives an official Vancouver 2010 certificate to hang in their classroom or in their school’s display cabinet, as well as stickers and pins for their students. All project submissions will also be entered into a grand prize draw to be held in February 2010.
To showcase your school’s projects, teachers can simply submit a brief description to the /EDU Project Showcase along with supporting images, video links or web links.
Here are some examples of projects already being showcased on /EDU:
- My Favourite Sport
- Time Flies: An Integrated Arts Project
- First Nations Drums
- Science Scrum
- Haldane’s 18th Annual Earth Day Celebration
- Olympic Heights School Inukshuk
- Paralympic Newspaper Project: Inspired by Vancouver 2010 Paralympic School Day Program
Subscribe to receive exclusive updates on new programs, events and contests by selecting "EDU Canadian School Portal" on the subscription form.
Find out how (your organization’s) students are participating with the 2010 Winter Games at vancouver2010.com/EDU, the Canadian school portal for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. (If available a “Project Showcase” sample from your organization may be dropped into your communications piece.)
