Caihong, Er deng tu and Wei Jie in Red Sky’s Tono
The thundering hooves of horses on the move and shamanic visions of two faraway cultures are magically conjured by dynamic percussion and the haunting lilt of the morin khuur as leaping dancers take centre stage in Tono. Inspired by indigenous cultures of North America, Mongolia and China and their connection to the horse, the piece also features First Nations drummers and long song and throat singers from the ancient steppes of Mongolia.
An original production of Red Sky Performance
