Take two of Canada’s finest ballet companies and create a once-in-a-lifetime Olympic gala featuring two separate presentations. The National Ballet of Canada will perform choreographer Marie Chouinard’s startlingly beautiful 24 Preludes by Chopin, evoking passion, introspection and rebellion with every step, while the Royal Winnipeg Ballet presents Itzik Galili’s trademark off-balance, hyper-kinetic movement, accompanied by rhythmic drumming, in Hikarizatto.
