Accessibility in Our Communities
British Columbia is home to many vibrant and active communities accessible to persons with a disability. The city of Vancouver is considered to be one of the most accessible cities in Canada and a favourite travel destination for persons with a disability. Accessibility at the 2010 Winter Games
Vancouver 2010 is committed to providing accessible venues and services for both the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. We welcome spectators with a disability to attend and enjoy all the Games have to offer. All venues have been reviewed for accessibility including consideration for persons who are visually impaired, blind, who have hearing loss, Deafness as well as mobility and/or agility impairments.

The following will be available at all venues for both the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games:

  • Accessible seating options (with adjacent companion seating)
  • Accessible washroom facilities and amenities
  • Assistive hearing devices available for loan at the information booth
  • Wheelchairs available for loan at the information booth
  • Accessible shuttle service within outdoor venues where travel over longer distances is required

Wheelchair-Accessible Seats
Wheelchair-accessible seats are available at all venues and can be requested through the ticketing process. Each wheelchair-accessible seat has one companion seat next to it.
