Don’t know much about Canada? This is a good place to start.
Where We Are
Beautiful, cosmopolitan Canada is moments from the USA. It’s easy, accessible and quick to get here. It takes less than three hours to fly from Los Angeles to Vancouver; Toronto is only one and a half hours from New York. (Yes, we’re that close.)
Urban Cities Close to Nature
Whether it’s Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal or Calgary, all our cosmopolitan cities are on the doorstep of nature. They are near lakes or oceans, and all have rivers running through them. (That means you can relax on a secluded beach within swimming distance of Toronto’s CN Tower).

Incredible Parks
We’re also famous for our urban parkland. There are thousands of parks in Toronto alone, covering nearly 20 per cent of the city. Vancouver’s world-famous Stanley Park is a rain-forested oasis the size of 1,000 football fields, and it’s practically in the middle of the downtown core. It’s something you have to see to believe.
Cultural Hubs
Montreal is one of North America’s leading cultural metropolises. Come and be wowed by performances during the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Toronto has an abundance of art, cuisine and culture. Visit the recently transformed Art Gallery of Ontario, a national cultural landmark. And Vancouver isn’t just home to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. It’s a sophisticated, culturally diverse hub where you can watch Shakespeare being performed on the beach or discover the treasures of our historic Chinatown.
Charming Communities
We also have charming local communities, villages and towns where people welcome you. They could very well introduce you to their local festivities or take you to their favourite fishing holes. (Ever been to a Gaelic kitchen party in Newfoundland? A First Nations powwow in Saskatchewan? Not to be missed!)

The World Comes Here
Canada is officially a bilingual country, which means it’s easy to get around in English or French. However, you’ll love the multitude of other nationalities here — people from Europe, China, Africa, India and many more, have made Canada their home. Our country was founded and formed by Aboriginal people; their cultures and values form a strong, vital part of our diverse culture.
In fact, it makes for a very interesting country to explore.

Okay, we’re a little biased. We like it here a lot.
But it’s hard not to be biased when you’ve got cosmopolitan cities right on the edge of nature. Experience life-changing personal journeys and see awe-inspiring natural wonders. Discover award-winning local cuisine. Connect with the incredible diversity of people who live in Canada, known to be some of the friendliest people in the world.
What Makes Canada so Unique?
Canada is a country where you can have remarkable, exciting experiences. You can discover the beauty of both natural and cultural environments, and have experiences you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
