Requests for 2010 Olympic Winter Games tickets submitted in record numbers

After weeks of deliberations at kitchen tables across Canada, Olympic enthusiasts submitted more than $345 million in requests for tickets to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. As of this past Friday, November 7, the final day of the Request Period of Phase 1, an estimated 120 of 170 ticketed sessions were oversubscribed due to demand exceeding the available tickets.

With only two days left in the Phase 1 Request Period of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games ticketing program, the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) is advising Canadians not to wait until the last moment before requesting tickets. This is the public’s best chance to request tickets; the deadline is midnight, on Friday, November 7, 2008 (Pacific Time).
