Paralympic School Days – Inspiring Students to Achieve Their Dreams
Paralympian Paul Rosen never saw himself as an educator, let
alone a hero. But that’s exactly the position he found
himself in while participating in the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic
School Days’ pilot program.

Connecting Teachers

The Teachers' forum is an online community inspiring
teachers to share ideas, best practices and classroom
resources related to Vancouver 2010, the Olympic and
Paralympic movements, and the Games’ three
pillars of sport, culture and sustainability. Teachers have
the opportunity to interact with guest educators, as well
as each other, enabling the community to reflect the ideas
of participating teachers.

Talmey Elementary School’s Paralympic School Day
Kathy Pantaleo teaches grade six and seven at Talmey Elementary
School in Richmond, BC, one of the schools selected for the
Paralympic School Days pilot program last May. Paul Rosen, goalie
for Canada’s Paralympic ice sledge hockey team, was the
presenting Paralympian.

One Cool Cat by Alexandria Tiffinger, Edmonton

In spring 2007, the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) held a
nationwide contest to design the Petro-Canada Paralympic Schools
Program mascot. Alexandria Tiffinger of Edmonton, AB was selected
as the contest’s grand prize winner. Her submission was
based on her real-life pet cat, Mr. Morris.
