Northern Canada Tour
Trading in light jackets and loafers for down parkas and
winter-worthy boots, members of VANOC’s executive and
the Aboriginal participation and communications teams visited
Northern Canada from January 8 to 12. The purpose: to extend the
spirit of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games to citizens across the
region.
Led by VANOC CEO John Furlong, the team included executive vice
presidents Donna Wilson and David Guscott, Aboriginal Participation
Specialist Lara Mussell Savage, and others.
Together they travelled to the Yukon, the Northwest Territories
and Nunavut, meeting with Canada Winter Games organizers,
representatives of local and Territorial governments, school
children and local First Nations and Inuit communities.
Our team’s mission is to engage all Canadians. From
coast to coast to coast, we want everyone to think of the 2010
Winter Games as Canada’s Games. Read more about the
