The Games are also an opportunity to celebrate
Canada’s Aboriginal heritage and build understanding
and awareness of the diverse cultures, traditions and contributions
of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
Vancouver 2010 is working with colleagues and partners to
identify opportunities for Aboriginal participation in the Games.
We understand that identifying these opportunities is just the
first step. This is why we’re also developing a
communications strategy to reach out to Aboriginal people and
provide them with access to the necessary tools and information get
involved.
We’re also working closely with local and national
Aboriginal, as well as the Aboriginal media, to help spread the
word about the 2010 Winter Games and how everyone can get
involved.
