When will I know if I’m selected for a volunteer position?

The volunteer selection process will take about two years. There are several steps along the way including:

  1. Application – this process is on-going until all positions have been filled
  2. Phone screen – spring 2008 to the end of 2009
  3. Security clearance – September 2008 to the end of 2009
  4. Interview – September 2008 to the end of 2009
  5. Orientation and Customer Service Excellence training– September 2008 to the end of 2009
  6. Offer of a volunteer position – offers will be extended throughout 2009, depending on the role
  7. Acceptance – volunteers are asked to accept or decline positions in a timely manner
  8. Job-Specific and Venue-Specific Training - fall 2008 to January 2010
  9. Scheduling – fall 2009
You’ll be considered a 2010 Winter Games volunteer after you’ve passed the security screening, have been offered and accepted a position and have completed the accreditation process. Please note that most individuals will complete all of these steps by fall 2009.
