VANOC is committed to informing the public of marketplace activities that come to our attention which may appear to be officially approved, endorsed, authorized or otherwise associated with VANOC or the 2010 Winter Games when, in fact, such activities have no official association with VANOC or the 2010 Winter Games.

In order to reduce confusion among consumers, VANOC will be updating this section of our website regularly in order to keep you informed of activities that either intentionally or unintentionally falsely promote an association with VANOC or the 2010 Winter Games.

The countdown to the first day of ticket sales for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games is on! 1.6 million tickets for the Olympic Winter Games go on sale in October 2008 and 250,000 Paralympic Winter Games tickets will be available in 2009.

It should be noted that until the ticketing program has been launched, any individual or group (except Vancouver 2010 Official Sponsors) claiming to have access to Games tickets is making that claim falsely. Once tickets are available, buyers should be aware that tickets bought from any unauthorized source may not be valid and may not be accepted for entry to 2010 Winter Games venues.

Official Supporter
Jet Set Sports, along with its affiliate company CoSport, is the exclusive VANOC Official Supporter in the Hospitality Packages and Services product category and is the only company authorized to develop and supply official hospitality packages. Hospitality packages provide spectators with the ability to purchase event tickets for the 2010 Winter Games in combination with transportation, lodging and food and beverage services.

These hospitality packages will be available in Canada as well as other countries where Jet Set Sports is the official sales agent. Presently, these countries include the United States, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria and the Slovak Republic.

Unauthorized sales promotion
It has come to our attention that there are a number of other individuals and organizations offering tickets and hospitality packages to the 2010 Winter Games or otherwise claiming to be able to provide tickets in the future. VANOC has not and does not expect to ever authorize any of these individuals or organizations to market 2010 Winter Games tickets or hospitality packages. Consumers are advised that there is a high degree of risk any such products obtained from them unauthorized parties will be recognized as valid when presented by the holder.

VANOC recommends that you not deal with these unauthorized parties. We encourage you to subscribe on vancouver2010.com to receive important ticketing information and announcements as they happen.

As mentioned above, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games ticketing and hospitality packages have yet to be launched and we remind consumers to be aware of these sorts of unauthorized activities.

VANOC will not be directly involved in accommodation for visitors to the 2010 Winter Games. VANOC is, however, in the process of finalizing an arrangement with its tourism partners who will provide an official accommodation site dedicated to handling accommodation requests for visitors to the 2010 Winter Games.

Fair pricing and standardization
Further information regarding accommodation, including fair pricing and standardized rating of properties will be provided on this website as it becomes available.

While there are several third party websites currently providing listings for property rentals during the 2010 Winter Games, none of these are associated with or sanctioned or authorized by VANOC.
