Peter Brown, OBC, LL.D.

As founder and current chair of the Canaccord Capital Corporation and director for the Investment Industry Association of Canada, Mr. Brown has gained solid experience in the areas of management and finance fundamentals. Over the years, he has also developed strong communications and negotiations skills. Through his work with Canaccord, Mr. Brown has helped finance a large number of British Columbia businesses. As chair of the University of British Columbia, he presided over the University's most successful fundraising campaign. His experience in organizing major events includes serving as chair of the Expo '86 Finance Committee and as vice chair of Expo '86 Corporation. Mr. Brown has also served as chair of the British Columbia Enterprise Corporation and the Vancouver Stock Exchange and acted in the capacity as the Government of British Columbia's chief negotiator on the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre. He was recently appointed director of the Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Project Limited & Pavilion Corp, both Crown Corporations. Mr. Brown also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Fraser Institute.
