A Paralympian, Patrick competed at the 1992 Paralympic Summer
Games in Barcelona (athletics) and also competed as a member of the
Alberta Disabled ski racing team from 1986 to 1988. Patrick was
elected in November 2005 to the International Paralympic Committee
(IPC) Governing Board as a Member-at-Large. He has been a member of
the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) board of directors since
1993, including president from 1999 until 2006.
Patrick has been extensively involved with major games since 1994
and was the Chef de Mission for the Canadian team at the 1998
Paralympic Winter Games in Nagano. He was the official CPC
representative at three Paralympic Games: Sydney 2000, Salt Lake
2002 and Athens 2004.
He was a member of the first National Sport Advisory Committee to the Secretary of State for Amateur Sport; is a ‘B’ member of the Canadian Olympic Committee; serves on the Calgary Olympic Development Association’s (CODA) board of directors and was on the Vancouver 2010 Bid Corporation board of directors.
He still competes in several non-disabled sports including running, basketball, curling and baseball, where he was a member of the 1995 and 1996 Canadian "Twilight" men's national championship team.
Patrick is the owner of Amarok Training Services Ltd., a training firm specialising in job performance management, providing consulting, facilitation and training delivery services.
