Barrett Fisher

Barrett Fisher has been President of Tourism Whistler since June 2003. Well-versed in all aspects of marketing, she brings to her position almost 20 years of tourism experience and is responsible for the worldwide marketing of the renowned resort destination.

Fisher also oversees the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre; Whistler Golf Club; Events Whistler; Whistler Visitor Services; and Whistler.com Reservations. She and her team recently launched the grand re-opening of the upgraded and expanded Whistler Conference Centre, which included a $12 million renovation.

A longtime employee of Tourism Whistler, Fisher also served the organization as vice president of marketing and sales; vice president of marketing; director of marketing; and director of advertising and promotion.

Previously, Fisher worked for seven years in the publishing industry, working in various editorial capacities for the North Shore News including managing editor, news editor, lifestyles editor and reporter.

In addition to her tourism endeavours, Fisher currently serves on the boards of the Whistler Arts Council, Whistler.com Reservations Co. as well as the Economic Committee and Partnership Committee of the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s 2020 Community Plan.

Barrett was chosen as one of the top 10 Women in Business in Vancouver’s 2006 Influential Women in Business Awards.

Fisher holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of British Columbia; a diploma in journalism from Vancouver Community College and a diploma in marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Born in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Fisher is married and has one daughter. She is an avid downhill and cross-country skier and also enjoys cycling and swimming.
