Multiparty Agreement
Partners involved in Vancouver's bid to host the 2010 Olympic
Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games signed a comprehensive
Multiparty Agreement (MPA) that spells out how each will contribute
to a successful Winter Games. This marked the first time such an
accord has been finalized as part of an Olympic bid.
The agreement involves Canada, British Columbia, the City of Vancouver, the Resort Municipality of Whistler, the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Canadian Paralympic Committee, and the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee. It establishes a clear understanding of the roles and working relationships of all the parties and the contractual arrangements between them. It addresses a range of issues including financial contributions, legal responsibilities, and the sport legacies of the Games.
