How to Get Involved

There are several ways to get involved with the Vancouver 2010 Torch Relays. We invite all Canadians to share in this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Torchbearer
More than 12,000 people will have an opportunity to carry one of the most enduring and globally recognized symbols of the Olympic Movement. Our goal is to involve as many Canadians as possible in this unique national journey.

The selection process for torchbearers will be announced in the fall of 2008.

Community Celebrations
Along its travels from coast to coast to coast, the Olympic Torch Relay will stop in some 200 communities, where celebrations will be planned to showcase the diversity of the Canadian people, their culture and geography. If your community is selected to be on the relay route, help will be required to host and volunteer in preparation for the large scale celebrations.

Be on the lookout for more details to come.

Cheer on the Flame
Many thousands of Canadians, in small and large communities across the country, will have an opportunity to see the Flame, cheer on the torchbearers and take part in community celebrations.
